Devan and Stacey Swift bought the house next door to their home because they wanted to offer the community a unique and luxurious rental accommodation in Mt. Carmel. The Swift Sanctuary and Parsonage are available for nightly rentals, which includes the use of the private home, yard, wi-fi, and laundry facilities.
The Swift’s created an eclectic styled home by combining modern furniture with antiques and repurposed pieces. The Swift’s love of family and history influenced the interior design of the Swift Sanctuary. As you enter the home you will find a pie case from the old Sager’s Grocery Store, antique pallets made into a coffee table, and stained glass windows from the First Christian Church. Devan’s dad, Don Swift was an art teacher at MCHS and WVC and his paintings and pottery are on display throughout the house. There are sculptures made from a Hedge tree limb that Stacey’s Grandpa Stelzer cut on the family farm over eighty-five years ago.
The Swifts have had years of experience in the lodging business. Devan and Stacey both helped her parents, the Stelzers, run the Poor Farm Bed and Breakfast. They hope they will be able to put their experience to use by providing you or your family with a home away from home.
